AMD Computer Services is run by Alex McDonald, who recognised the need for a high quality computer supplies and service business in the area. Alex undertook the exacting Cerco Computer Engineer's Course and passed all fifteen exams with over 80% in each. Alex has also gained numerous further accreditations from most of the major manufacturers. On passing his AST accredited engineer exam Alex gained the highest pass mark at the time in Britain with 198/200.
Alex also provides Corporate support for a major PC manufacturer throughout Scotland and the North East. He is now a registered Microsoft OEM System Builder and spends some of his very limited spare time studying for further qualifications. From one or two initial local enquiries, Alex has built up a considerable business with a formidable reputation for reliable, expert service.
That service now extends beyond the Highlands & Islands to encompass the whole of the UK. The company's broad customer base includes school children with a single laptop to an International company with a state of the art network comprising of 12 servers and 750 users.
